![]() The Circle of Serbian Sister held a weekend celebration and fundraiser on June 7 and 8 at the children's summer camp at St. Sava Monastery in Canberra.
The dance program included folklore groups from Sydney, Canberra, Monavale, Blacktown, and even as far away as Geelong (800km away). The enjoyable evening of food, dance, and community was also shared with members of St. Nicholas Greek
Divine Liturgy commemorating the Holy Fathers celebrated by Very Reverend Father Nenad (of Blacktown) and Reverend Father Seraphim (of St. Sava Monastery).Following the Divine Liturgy, a procession was made around the Church with the relics of St. Seraphim of Sarov. The relics were brought by the Very Reverend Father Nenad and presented to the monastery with the blessings of His Grace IRINEJ -- Bishop of Australia and New Zealand. These relics will join those of St. Nikolai of Zicha and St. Petka as a source of strength and grace for the monastic community and those pilgims who travel here. After the relics where enshrined in the Church, Fr. Nenad reminded those gathered that "churches and monasteries are built on the relics of the saints." Seraphim who placed them in the center of the church amidst the a flowers and incense. The relics were then venerated by the clergy and faithful present. |
